Job Description:
We are working with a well-established and multi-award-winningfinancial services provider who are seeking a Managing Director of Solutions to join their senior leadership team in London.
This is a newly created, senior leadership opportunity for someone with a strong track record in bringing together multiple business units into one cohesive, high-performing division. The successful candidate will lead the consolidation and transformation of business units into a single, unified function, working closely with the Executive Committee to shape strategy, drive commercial performance, and support the organisation's continued growth, including through acquisition.
Deep pensions knowledge is not essential for this role, it is essential that you have worked in a regulated financial services environment. What matters most is demonstrable experience leading business integration, strong stakeholder management skills at senior/C-suite level, sound commercial acumen, and comfort engaging with data-led and technology-driven propositions.
- Significant senior leadership experience gained in pensions, investment management, investment solutions, professional services, or data-led consultancy environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading change, integrating business lines, or transforming operating models.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of owning budgets, driving revenue growth, and supporting sales and client delivery.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and business unit heads.
- Comfort engaging with data and technology-driven products and platforms.
- Strong people leadership with a track record of building engaged, high-performing teams.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Investments, Business, or a related discipline; professional investment qualifications (e.g. CFA) desirable but not required.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end consolidation of business units into one cohesive function, defining a compelling strategic vision and operating model.
- Take full commercial accountability across the division, including revenue growth, profitability, cost efficiency, and product performance; own forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting to the Board.
- Oversee the enhancement and optimisation of the group's data and reporting platform, ensuring its outputs drive better client and internal decision-making.
- Champion the development of integrated propositions that combine consultancy insight, professional services delivery, and data-led capabilities.
- Build, lead, and motivate high-performing teams, conducting regular performance, development, and succession reviews across the newly consolidated division.
- Lead change management efforts during integration and growth, ensuring clarity of purpose, employee engagement, and stakeholder buy-in.
- Support M&A activity by providing insight on investment, platform, and product implications, and contribute to integration planning and execution.
