Job Description:
We are working on a fantastic opportunity for a Junior User Experience Designer to join the team at a leading financial services firm. This role is ideal for someone with a background in design, preferably 1 or more years’ experience in a professional UX and/or UI position, but open to someone with a relevant University degree and a strong understanding of UX/UI.
Skills/Experience:
- A passion for UX and UI.
- An up-to-date knowledge of latest design trends.
- A background in design, preferably 1 or more years’ experience in a professional UX and/or UI position.
- A strong portfolio which demonstrates work across a range of projects.
- A good working knowledge of Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator XD). A basic understanding of Zeplin or any prototyping tool (AxureRP, Sketch, InVision would be beneficial).
- A basic knowledge of working in Agile process.
- Experience with mobile and responsive design would be highly beneficial.
- Good communication skills – Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to the Senior User Experience Designer and Project leaders.
- Ability to work alongside multiple colleagues within different departments.
- Attend UX conferences and training events as and when required.
Core Responsibilities:
- Work with the Senior User Experience Designer to optimise products, functionality and features.
- Collaborate effectively with web, mobile developers to build user-friendly web and mobile interfaces.
- Create consistent and simple user-centred designs that adhere to brand guidelines.
- Assist in translating business requirements into flows, wireframes and mock-ups that lead to intuitive UI designs.
- Identify design problems then devise elegant and consistent solutions.
- Take smart risks and champion new ideas.
