Core-Asset Consulting is working with a leading financial services firm to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or professional to join a collaborative and high‑performing environment where you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of fund accounting data.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing core accounting processes, supporting financial reporting and contributing to the delivery of high‑quality client service.
Skills/Experience:- Previous fund accounting experience
- Good understanding of investment management
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to respond to queries efficiently
- Take ownership of team deliverables to ensure all outputs are completed accurately to meet deadlines
- Complete accounts workbooks, reconciling accounting data
- Perform periodic reconciliations of cash, stock, and withholding tax balances against custodian records
- Support fund audits by providing required information and resolving queries in a timely manner
- Respond to internal and external queries professionally, escalating issues where appropriate
- Monitor and contribute to team KPIs, supporting the production of management information
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance overall client service delivery
- Contribute to ad‑hoc project work as required
- Maintain a strong focus on quality and accuracy across all deliverables
- Provide support and cover for colleagues across the wider team when needed
