Job Description
We are recruiting for an Assistant Company Secretary to join our client in Newcastle on a 15 month fixed term contract basis.
Working closely with the Company Secretary and a small, collaborative team, you\'ll take ownership of a broad range of Company Secretarial and governance activities and will benefit from a comprehensive handover with the current roleholder.
Expected start date is December/January, however, interviews will begin in September.
Skills/Experience
- Experience in a Company Secretarial, governance or similar role.
- Experience supporting Boards and/or committees.
- Good knowledge of Companies House requirements and statutory filings.
- Experience working in a regulated, listed or financial services environment is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of delivering accurately against tight deadlines.
- Experience with legal entity management, governance or board-management systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office/Share Point skills and an interest in using technology and AI to improve processes.
- ACIS, FCIS, CGI/ICSA qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinating Board and committee meetings from end to end, including agendas, papers, meeting logistics, minutes and actions.
- Supporting the Company Secretary with governance, statutory and regulatory matters.
- Taking ownership of the administration and coordination of selected committees.
- Ensuring Companies House filings and other statutory requirements are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintaining and developing legal entity and governance records and systems.
- Administering governance and board-management tools.
- Supporting and improving Share Point and other digital processes within the function.
- Using AI and technology to identify opportunities to streamline and improve ways of working.
- Working closely with senior stakeholders, Board members and committee members.
