Job Description
Our client, a global asset manager, is recruiting for a Legal Counsel to join their team in Edinburgh.
This role focuses on advising on complex technology, AI deployment and digital infrastructure matters, alongside contentious and regulatory issues arising from strategic commercial arrangements.
Skills/Experience
- Circa 2-4 years' post-qualification experience.
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial and technology agreements.
- Experience within financial services, asset management or investment platforms would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Core Responsibilities
- Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice on a broad range of commercial and contractual matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial, technology, outsourcing and other complex agreements.
- Identify, assess and mitigate legal, regulatory and commercial risks across business activities.
- Advise on contractual interpretation, performance issues and dispute avoidance or resolution strategies.
- Support strategic transformation programmes, technology initiatives and operational change projects.
- Advise on data protection, AI, intellectual property and brand matters, or demonstrate the appetite to develop expertise in these areas.
- Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders, delivering pragmatic legal solutions that enable commercial objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve legal service delivery through process optimisation, technology and innovation.
- Support the responsible adoption of legal technology and AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency, insight and knowledge management.
