Our client, a financial services firm in Edinburgh, is recruiting for an AML Screening Analyst to join their team on 4-month temporary basis.

The role offers a hybrid working model and start date is ASAP.

Skills/Experience

  • Previous financial crime, compliance, risk or financial services experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • The ability to make objective, evidence-based decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Core Responsibilities
  • Review alerts generated through AML, sanctions, politically exposed person (PEP) and adverse media screening systems.
  • Analyse information from internal systems and approved external sources to support investigations.
  • Assess whether alerts are genuine matches, potential matches or false positives.
  • Record investigation outcomes accurately and maintain clear audit trails.
  • Complete alert reviews within agreed service level agreements and operational procedures.
  • Escalate potential matches and higher-risk cases to senior Financial Crime colleagues.
  • Support ongoing customer and counterparty screening activities, remediation exercises and data quality initiatives.
  • Assist with workload prioritisation and backlog management.
  • Adhere to AML, Financial Crime and Sanctions policies while handling confidential information appropriately.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and screening effectiveness.
  • Participate in training, quality assurance activities and knowledge sharing.
