Senior Commercial Accountant
Central London | Hybrid Working | Global Energy Business We're partnering with a global energy business looking to appoint a Senior Commercial Accountant into a high performing finance team supporting a complex trading operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with experience in energy, commodities or another trading environment who enjoys combining technical accounting with commercial insight.
You'll work closely with finance, commercial and operational teams, playing a key role in financial reporting, business partnering and supporting new business activity.
Key responsibilities: Lead the accounting for complex trading activities, including mark to market reporting and derivative accounting.
Support monthly and year end reporting, providing analysis and commentary on financial performance.
Act as the technical accounting lead, advising on IFRS and ensuring new commercial activity is structured and accounted for appropriately.
Partner with commercial stakeholders to support new business opportunities and provide financial insight.
Develop profitability reporting, KPIs and analysis to support strategic decision making.
Take ownership of operational cost reporting and budgeting.
Drive continuous improvements across finance processes, controls and reporting.
We're looking for: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
Experience within energy, commodities or another trading environment.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, particularly financial instruments and derivative accounting.
Confident partnering with both finance and commercial stakeholders.
Strong Excel skills, with exposure to ERP systems.
Experience with Power BI, Python or VBA would be advantageous.
