Why join our client
My client is an owner managed, bootstrapped SaaS scale-up currently going through a PE sale. Under £10mill ARR, my client has a very strong reputation in their market, some very loyal partnerships with well recognised global brands (over 90% retention rate) and ambition to grow 3X in the next 4-5 years. Their product is both B2C and B2B, although the focus is growth on larger ticket, enterprise sales.
How you’ll make an impact
Reporting to CEO, this role requires someone who can transform the marketing function. The right CMO will be comfortable working autonomously, with a proven track record working for a SaaS startup of a similar size/stage, and be able to:
- Assess the current marketing strategy, ensuring the team is fit-for-purpose to deliver on that strategy, and identify any skills gaps
- Fix structural issues in the team/framework
- Deliver value quickly with a focus on demand generation - both B2C (self-serve) and B2B products/pipelines
- Lead the hiring of a new Head of Marketing
- Demonstrate comfort with the existing tech stack - Hubspot (essential), Clay, Webflow CMS, and introduce AI tools for efficiency
- Work in a bootstrapped business. This person needs to be able to get the best out of what they have available, there isn’t an endless budget.
What you’ll get in return
The Fractional CMO will be given complete autonomy to transform the marketing function working in tandem with a brilliant CEO. The role is outlined as 2-3 days p/w (dependent on rate) and is completely remote (UK). I’ve outlined a rough day rate range above, but the most important thing here is someone who can deliver value quickly and shape the marketing team for the future. So, I’m open to talking to individuals a fraction north of that range.
We invite applications from all qualified candidates who believe they meet the requirements of the role, whilst supporting and promoting equality and diversity to create an inclusive working environment for all.
