Cordell & Co is a personal injury law firm based in Dorking, Surrey. It is a second-generation family owned law firm with a pedigree in a wide range of areas of personal injury. Our firm is growing and the opportunity will allow you to operate within a growing, vibrant environment working closely with the owner in their plan to modernise and develop the firm into a top personal injury practice.
The role is ideal for an individual with 2 years’ experience as an accountant or an experienced bookkeeper; however, it may be overlooked for the right candidate. The role would require them to work closely with the owner and an accounts assistant in completing the required work.
Responsibilities:- Manage the recording of the profit and loss of a business.
- Manage credit control, bank reconciliation and client account matters.
- Have a detailed understanding of the solicitors accounts rules and manage a relationship with external accountants firms to ensure compliance.
- Manage ongoing costs during the firm's growth.
- Manage expense control for staff.
- Manage payroll, PAYE and pension.
- Assist in the onboarding process for all new candidates.
- Deal with all levels of staff reviews and one-to-ones.
- Formalise the existing training and human resources process.
- Assist the senior management team in communication of target compliance and facilitation of training for the staff.
- Plan quarterly socials and Christmas party.
- Manage holiday requests.
- Manage overtime and other pay requests.
