Astroscale UK is bringing in an Internal Recruitment Manager to support our ongoing growth and evolution. You will be accountable for delivering end‑to‑end resourcing and recruitment that enables the organisation to attract, engage and appoint high‑quality talent aligned to business priorities. Working in close partnership with leaders and hiring managers, the role ensures workforce needs are clearly understood, appropriately scoped and met through the most effective resourcing solutions, whether permanent, contract or alternative models. The role combines proactive sourcing, robust process management and stakeholder collaboration to deliver timely, compliant and cost‑effective hiring outcomes, while continuously improving recruitment capability, tools and data quality across the organisation. You’ll also shape and own the candidate journey and employer brand, ensuring every interaction reflects the organisation’s values. Working alongside the Head of Talent and wider HR team, you’ll contribute to strategic planning, budget input, hiring manager upskilling and continuous improvement, supporting the maturity of talent acquisition as a core organisational capability.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the wider business to understand requirements, including considering skills gaps, development opportunities, and best fit (e.g. Permanent, contractors, outsourcing, internal mobility) as well as the alignment of the request to organisational goals and budgets.
  • Advertise vacancies in suitable locations, leverage personal network, and proactive sourcing methods to fill existing positions and talent pool for longer term business needs.
  • Ensure useful feedback is gathered from hiring managers and stakeholders to progress recruitment.
  • Maintain up to date information on internal systems, and ensure ongoing compliance to data protection and other legislations.
  • Primary phone screening, and pre‑qualification, of candidates.
  • Provide updates to candidates (including interview scheduling, feedback and rejections), and external suppliers, leveraging technology wherever possible.
  • Support Head of Talent with Preferred Supplier Reviews.
  • Manage the offer process, including approval, negotiation and initial paperwork.
  • Define, promote, and deliver internal recruitment processes, supporting development goals for employees.
  • Own the candidate journey, and ensure an excellence candidate experience is delivered for all applicants through effective communication.
  • Work closely with Head of Talent and MarComms team to ensure our EVP is authentic and use it to align our language both internally and externally.
  • Explore and propose other ways to increase our visibility/presence as an employer and drive associated action plans.
  • Support outreach activities alongside wider team, and other colleagues, in line with organisational needs.
  • Support the upskilling of hiring managers to interview and build the relevant tools.
  • Support Talent team, and wider HR Team, on topics as relevant.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of hands‑on candidate sourcing experience, in a complex engineering or technology environment (agency or in house).
  • Good technical knowledge base, with a willingness to learn more.
  • Strong organisational and administration skills.
  • Good understanding of recruitment practices and UK employment law.
  • Ability to handle a dynamic workload.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong team player, able to work on their own initiative in assigned areas.
  • Enthusiasm for the space industry, and the Astroscale mission.

Desirable Skills

  • Degree or professional qualification in relevant field.
  • Prior experience working within or alongside the space industry, ideally in the UK or Europe.
  • Broader HR skillset (for example; Learning and Development, HR Operations, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging).
