As a Talent Acquisition Consultant, you will play a key role in attracting, hiring and retaining high-quality talent across a designated business area. You will partner closely with hiring managers, provide expert recruitment support, and ensure a seamless, candidate-centric experience throughout the hiring lifecycle.
Role Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with hiring managers, acting as their first point of contact for recruitment needs.
- Conduct discovery calls to understand new vacancies and create compelling, optimised job adverts.
- Post roles across job boards and social channels to attract diverse talent.
- Proactively source candidates using job boards, social media and smart sourcing techniques.
- Screen applicants against agreed criteria and coordinate interviews within agreed timeframes.
- Deliver excellent customer service to both hiring managers and candidates.
- Manage the offer and compliance process, ensuring consistency and timely completion.
- Maintain accurate recruitment administration using Workday ATS.
- Analyse recruitment data, including time-to-hire and key KPIs.
- Support the wider TA team to ensure a smooth, efficient recruitment process.
- Promote Mears as an employer of choice and uphold a One Mears approach.
- Work collaboratively with the wider HR function to deliver a joined-up service.
- Attend careers fairs, recruitment events and community engagement activities to promote opportunities at Mears Group.
- Visit branches nationwide to support hiring managers face-to-face and gain a deeper understanding of local recruitment needs.
- Be prepared to travel across the UK as required.
Role Criteria
- Previous recruitment experience (in-house or agency).
- Friendly and approachable, with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- High attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Proactive, with the confidence to use initiative and take ownership of tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Resilient, adaptable and confident making independent decisions.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with ATS systems (Workday desirable).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable).
