An exceptional opportunity for an experienced and highly professional Live-in Butler/House Manager to join a Grade I listed Mansion House, set within a large Dorset estate.
The ideal candidate will be organised, polished, discreet, and possess grace and decorum, ensuring the smooth running of the residence whilst maintaining a warm yet professional presence. A well-connected individual with an extensive industry network and a strong understanding of managing a large estate or palace will thrive in this role. The previous Butler had been with the house for 10 years and is now retiring.
Interviews will be scheduled for the end of March. July start date.
Job duties
- Overseeing and managing the day-to-day household operations with precision and efficiency
- Ensuring the highest standards of service, including formal and informal dining, wardrobe management, and guest relations
- Liaising with household staff, external contractors, and suppliers to maintain smooth operations
- Anticipating the needs of the Principal and guests, delivering exceptional service with discretion
- Assisting with event planning and execution, both formal and informal
- Managing household inventories, silverware, and fine furnishings with meticulous attention to detail
- Upholding security and privacy protocols within the estate
Candidates must be/have:
- Experienced in a similar role within a Palace/UHNW household
- Immaculately presented with a professional yet approachable demeanour
- Highly organised, proactive, and efficient in managing a dynamic environment
- Discreet and able to uphold strict confidentiality at all times
- Well-connected with a strong industry network and an understanding of household staffing
- Adaptable with a finger on the pulse of a large and prestigious estate
- Spit-spot in their approach nothing is overlooked, and everything is in its place
Accommodation
A private basement flat with its own entrance, offering good views and freedom to explore the estates grounds.
Hours
Monday to Friday, with flexibility required when the Principal is in residence.
