Our service in Coventry is a community Persistent Pain service that provides a single point of access for NHS patients enabling a seamless and efficient patient journey. You will be part of a large, dynamic multidisciplinary team. The community service design allows clinicians to work together to deliver seamless and evidence-based care for patients and enables inter-disciplinary learning.
The successful candidate will deliver face to face individual assessments and therapy sessions as well as group Pain Management Programme sessions alongside colleagues. Some clinical work will be done remotely through telephone and video consultations as well as via digital platforms.
Main duties of the jobThis is an exciting opportunity to be a psychological therapist within an interdisciplinary pain team. You will provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions as part of an interdisciplinary pain team, to individuals, groups and via ehealth. You may also have the opportunity to supervise other members of the team.
You will use your knowledge, experience, and brilliant skills to provide advice and consultation on psychological aspects of pain management to other health professionals and to advance students and colleagues' knowledge and practice of psychological theories and principles. You will proactively develop and promote a positive and dynamic image and culture and will be key in fostering productive relationships with key stakeholders.
You will be registered with BABCP as a CBT Therapist and will have experience of working within a physical health setting delivering individual and group interventions. You will preferably have good knowledge of the current evidence base in relation to psychological approaches to pain management. We are particularly keen to recruit an enthusiastic and high calibre candidate with interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Person SpecificationQualifications: Post graduate Diploma in CBT and registration and accreditation with BABCP.
Experience: Experience of the application of clinical/health/counselling psychology in different cultural contexts.
