As a Strategic Account Manager you will utilize your deep knowledge of the publishing industry, entrepreneurial and strategic mindset, and strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage and grow engagement, increase product enrollment, drive revenue, and identify new sales opportunities for a small number of assigned rightsholder organizations with a focus on scholarly communications solutions and AI. Responsible for business outcomes for your assigned rightsholders you are expected to demonstrate strong leadership and advocacy both internally and externally on behalf of their rightsholders.
This position will interact externally with multiple levels within the specified Rightsholder organizations, including C-suite executives, to facilitate understanding of CCC’s market value, offerings, and brand, maintain and grow client satisfaction and diversify interpersonal relationships at multiple levels and personas throughout the organization, identify and nurture new sales leads with a focus on scholarly communications, grow revenue through deep understanding of CCC’s capabilities and rightsholder content and needs, and introduce operational efficiencies for rightsholders and CCC.
The position will also interact internally with an extensive range of CCC colleagues as a rightsholder-facing expert, internal leader of assigned accounts, and internal business partner for issue resolution and rightsholder communications.
What you will be doing:
- Acts in an advisory capacity to multiple levels of contacts within a small defined list of Rightsholder Accounts ensuring that the relationship and revenue needs of both CCC and the rightsholders are achieved and new opportunities are being uncovered and actioned.
- Actively extends the network with identified personas within the assigned client base and helps inform and educate the rightsholders on the ways CCC creates value for the account and the wider industry.
- Creates and delivers quarterly or biannual Strategic Alignment Meetings to multiple levels within the publishing house and participates in quarterly aggregated readouts to internal stakeholders.
- Evaluates, clarifies, and validates rightsholder needs on an ongoing basis with a focus on identifying sales leads for CCC services, and increasing revenue and operational efficiencies on a regular basis.
- Meets assigned targets for Revenue, Inventory and other business objectives as defined by the Director.
- Maintains a deep working knowledge of CCC’s products and services, especially AI and scholarly communications offerings, to drive adoption and client outcomes.
- Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders leading to high customer satisfaction ratings.
- Internally aligns, manages, and streamlines CCC’s communications and outputs to the designated rightsholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 10+ years account management experience
- Publishing industry experience strongly preferred
- Confident and skilled at building relationships and able to interact with all levels of an organization, including C-suite executives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to travel and be able to represent the company externally
