The Copthorne Hotel London Gatwick is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance team on a full-time basis. They will be responsible for maintaining and repairing services and equipment within the hotel and grounds, ensuring facilities are kept in operation and a safe working condition for our guests.
As a Maintenance Engineer, your key responsibilities include:
- Carry out and ensure planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is completed on all relevant equipment daily, weekly, monthly, and as planned.
- Respond to all reactive maintenance within the specified service level agreements.
- Carry out civil, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, and refrigeration maintenance, repairs, and installation.
- Display a sound knowledge of MEP and civil related works.
- Assess required resources for maintenance, repair, or installation works.
- Flexibility to work to shift patterns as and when required, including 24/7 rostered standby duties and emergency call outs.
- Report to manager on job progress and issues on a daily basis.
- Installation, testing, and maintenance of HV and LV distribution systems.
- Carry out fault finding.
- Experience of standby power systems including UPS.
- Provide progress reports on allocated work orders.
- Administration and clerical duties as required by the job.
- Immediately notify the manager of any fire life safety issues or concerns.
- Maintain a safe place of work.
- Assist in carrying out site surveys, inspections, estimations, and quotations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant and current legislation at all times whilst at work, e.g., Health & Safety Policy, Fire Regulations.
As Maintenance Engineer, the essential skills required include:
- Plumbing and electrical skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role ideally within hotels.
- Keen eye for detail and able to work alone.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace.
- A team player who can manage own workload.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends.
