Copsewood Medical Centre is looking for an individual with a good knowledge of Windows/IT skills, able to navigate computer systems and be forward thinking. The Practice uses EMIS medical system, Accrux, Docman, etc. Experience is desirable and training will be given and monitored.

Working Hours: 1.00 to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday (27.5 hours) (Additional hours to help with emergency/holiday cover when required). To start ASAP.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Working in a busy environment, greeting and welcoming patients in a friendly manner either face to face or on the telephone.
  • Carrying out various reception administrative duties.
  • Offering general assistance and making appropriate appointments by directing and navigating patients to the most suitable service for their healthcare in a professional, effective and friendly manner.
  • Providing information to patients including test results and details of services.
  • Communicating effectively with patients and all members of the Practice Team.
  • Being very organised and detail-oriented, resolving daily matters with a positive workload.
  • Dealing with requests and queries from patients and other providers face to face, by telephone, and online.
  • Ensuring Practice standards are maintained and monitored to improve the quality of total care to all who encounter the services provided by the Practice.
  • Chaperoning as requested by Clinicians; training will be given for this.
  • Checking patients' addresses, telephone numbers/emails, etc., ensuring all records are up to date.
  • Dealing with patients who wish to register with the Practice face to face and online, as well as Temporary Residents.
  • Processing repeat prescriptions.
  • Photocopying and scanning medical letters and reports.
  • Ensuring building security, including opening and closing premises.
  • Being flexible in working patterns, multi-tasking, friendly, and a team player.

About Us: Copsewood Medical Centre CV2 5NB is located off Binley Road and is part of the Sowe Valley Primary Network group. We are a small friendly Practice with approximately 5500 patients, and we are also a training practice for GP Registrars. There are 3 Doctors working at the Practice, 4 GP Registrars, 2 Practice Nurses, GPA, Paramedic, Clinical Pharmacist, and a Physio, as well as the Admin Team.

Job responsibilities include:

Person Specification:

  • Windows and Microsoft applications are essential for the role.
  • Excellent telephone manner with strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational abilities and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong and competent typing skills and checking data.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Willingness to undertake regular training and adapt to NHS changes.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to help everyone.
  • Previous experience of working in a GP Practice or NHS environment would be desirable. Full training would be given to the right candidate.
