The predicted salary is between 37338 - 44962 Β£ per year.

Our extremely successful, high achieving and pragmatic semi-rural village practice is offering you the chance to work as a salaried GP. Working in a modern, practice owned surgery as part of our dedicated clinical team along with friendly, supportive administrative staff. We require 6 sessions per week. Tuesday is essential, other sessions can be worked on Monday, Thursday or Friday.

Main duties of the job:

  • Registered GP with the GMC, possess the right to work in the UK, included on performers list.
  • Provide general medical services for our patient population.
  • Able to make a long term commitment to the practice and to make an active contribution towards the continuing success of the practice.
  • Keen to work collaboratively with our clinical and administrative staff.
  • Commitment to delivering high quality care.
  • Duty doctor cover will be required.
  • Process test results and clinical admin for other clinicians, for example nurse practitioners, locums and GPs on leave.
  • Complete some medical reports.
  • Home visits for housebound and care home patients.

Job responsibilities:

The post-holder will provide general medical services managing a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

Main purpose of the role:

To support the GP partners in managing a busy clinical caseload and working toward maintaining high achievement in enhanced services, QOF and patient experience. The appointee will also have the opportunity to take part in leading on key disease areas and assist in developing appropriate healthcare services.

Clinical responsibilities:

In accordance with the practice rota, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including: surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, duty doctor responsibilities including triaging of cases, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, test results, clinical correspondence, medical reports, referral letters NHS/private, clinical tasks. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation. Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards. Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines. In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Other responsibilities with the Practice:

  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and procedures.
  • A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
  • Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
  • Attending training, practice meetings and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
  • Meet all timescales/deadlines for audits and written returns to ensure that the practice meets quality standards and receives the designated funding.
