Copping Joyce Surveyors is an independent, multi-practice firm of Chartered RICS Surveyors with a history stretching back to 1898. With offices across the UK, we deliver a comprehensive range of property advisory services nationally, including valuations, commercial agency, investment and development, asset management, affordable housing, healthcare advisory, LPA receivership and building consultancy. Our clients range from major high-street banks and housing associations to property developers and public bodies.

We are now looking for a Business Development Manager to lead our commercial growth, building on a century of trusted client relationships while opening doors to new opportunities across the market. This is a client-facing, relationship-led position sitting at the heart of Copping Joyce's growth strategy. You will be responsible for developing new business across our full range of services nationally, nurturing existing client relationships and representing the firm at industry events and forums. Working closely with our specialist surveying teams across our UK offices, you will bridge the gap between technical expertise and commercial opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Build and manage relationships with banks, lenders, property developers, housing associations, insolvency practitioners and solicitors across the UK
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with Copping Joyce's service lines, including our growing asset management offering
  • Work alongside surveyors and valuers to develop tailored pitches, proposals and presentations for prospective clients
  • Represent Copping Joyce at industry events, conferences and sector-specific networking forums
  • Support marketing activity, brand positioning and digital presence
  • Track pipeline activity, report on business development outcomes and contribute to the firm's wider commercial strategy
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience in business development, client management or a senior relationship role
  • Background in property, real estate, financial services or professional services
  • Confident networker, comfortable at events and in one-to-one stakeholder meetings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, commercially driven and able to work independently across our UK office network
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Existing network across lenders, developers, housing associations or insolvency practitioners
  • Familiarity with RICS-regulated services, chartered surveying, asset management or the valuation sector
  • Experience supporting marketing, events or brand development in a professional services firm
  • Understanding of affordable housing, healthcare property or LPA receivership markets
