Copperweld is the world leader in bimetallic wire manufacturing, specialising in copper‑clad steel (CCS) and copper‑clad aluminium (CCA) conductors, engineered for performance‑critical electrical applications. Its product portfolio includes building wire, power‑grid conductors, grounding systems, automotive wiring, and signal wire used across construction, utilities, communications, and transportation sectors. Group annual turnover is c.$500m, which it is seeking to grow to $1bn by 2030. Headquartered in Tennessee, USA, the company has operated for more than 100 years, and established its UK business in Telford, to provide local contact for its customers across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. The UK facility functions alongside Copperweld’s U.S. plants, and has developed a niche, high margin customer base, specialising in wiring solutions for the transportation, aerospace, building construction, and automotive markets. The EMEA region currently has annual sales of c$12m, and is highly profitable, which the business wants to double over the next 3 to 5 years, across its existing product range. In addition, the group has highly ambitious growth plans for the EMEA business, specifically within the CCA products area, which it believes has the potential to be a significant business.

The Role

The role of Vice President - EMEA is to lead and accelerate its commercial growth across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, by identifying new market opportunities. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, the VP - EMEA will be responsible for driving regional sales performance, expanding market presence in Europe, and aligning with application engineering and R&D to deliver innovative, customer-driven solutions. Leading a team based in Telford, this will be a highly autonomous role, and part of a Group SLT of 10 executives – a highly experienced, dynamic, ambitious, and collaborative team. This role represents a unique opportunity to help shape and deliver significant growth for a business that has established an industry-leading position within its home market. You will enjoy real autonomy, and support, to deliver the success that the business believes is possible across the EMEA region.

The Candidate

Copperweld are seeking a proven business leader, with a track record of success in growing and developing a technically led industrial products manufacturer, ideally with experience of the power cable / wire sector, and exposure to its regulatory framework environment, standards committees, and specification processes across the UK, Europe, and / or the Middle East. Ideally degree-educated in an engineering or business discipline, you will be highly commercial, and will possess strong financial and P&L ownership experience – with exposure to building wire, power grid, utilities, or infrastructure specification cycles. Adept at leading a business that has ambitious growth targets, you will thrive in a company that operates at pace, and will be someone who ‘makes things happen’ with the relevant gravitas, drive, communications skills, and leadership qualities.
