Are you looking for a challenge and an opportunity to make a real difference to children and their families? If so, our client is searching for a Deputy Manager within their Residential home in Hoddesdon, to work directly with complex families where there are safeguarding concerns and there may be a real risk of them otherwise coming into care.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations within the home, ensuring high standards of care and support for the children and their families.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols while administering medications.
  • Collaborate with families and healthcare professionals to enhance resident well-being and quality of life.
  • Work closely alongside the home's manager to assist in the running of the home on a day-to-day basis, and to achieve the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose.
  • Provide advice, assistance, and support to young people, safeguarding their welfare at all times.
  • Attend to their practical, physical, and emotional needs.
  • Act as an appropriate role model and work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.
  • Support Residential Childcare Workers and the team leaders in their role, including mentoring and supervision.

Qualifications:

  • QCF Level 4 essential
  • DBS Essential
  • Proven management and supervisory experience in a residential setting
  • OFSTED knowledge essential
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development
  • Experience in assisted living and nursing home environments
  • Ability to create and implement effective care plans
