We are seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our client’s commercial team in Reading. This individual will play a key role in generating qualified opportunities within a predefined set of target accounts and partners. You’ll be part of a collaborative sales environment, engaging with key stakeholders across sectors including healthcare, legal, consumer research, and financial services.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth research into target accounts and territories to gather insights, identify key contacts, and prepare for effective prospecting.
Engage potential customers through personalised outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn/social media, events, and other channels.
Collaborate with the marketing team on campaign development and execution.
Respond to inbound enquiries, qualifying leads and progressing them into viable opportunities.
Use structured sales frameworks to engage and convert prospects.
Nurture early-stage relationships and maintain a high level of communication with leads.
Record and maintain all prospecting activity and pipeline progression within the CRM system (PipeDrive).
Consistently achieve or exceed monthly lead generation and qualification targets.
Stay informed about product features and developments, industry trends, and competitor activity.
Share insights and best practices across the team and be open to learning from others.
Person Profile:
We are looking for someone with strong communication skills who can confidently interact with C-level stakeholders and build rapport quickly. The ideal candidate is commercially driven, goal-oriented, and eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced tech environment.
Essential Experience:
Ideally, 1+ year of experience in an internal sales or customer-facing role.
Alternatively, a recent graduate with a clear motivation to begin a career in tech sales.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable initiating conversations with senior decision-makers.
Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Self-motivated with the ability to set and manage personal targets.
Resilient, coachable, and a strong team player.
Desirable Experience:
Degree-level education.
Previous experience in lead generation or sales development, especially within the public sector or NHS.
An understanding of automation or AI technologies, or a strong interest in tech innovation.
