Purchase Ledger Assistant based in Chertsey, £30,000, 37.5 hours per week, 8am - 4.30pm or 9am - 5.30pm.
Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their accounts team in Chertsey, reporting to the Accounts Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, while handling invoice and payment queries efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Process supplier invoices and credit notes
- Monitor the Accounts Payable inbox and respond to queries
- Set up new supplier accounts
- Reconcile supplier accounts and prepare payment runs
- Process Fast and Next Day Payments
- Liaise with Sales Ledger for contra payments
- Previous purchase ledger/accounts experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills
- Good written and verbal communication
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of Sage or similar accounting software an advantage
