A well-established specialist contractor based in Staines is seeking a dependable Van Driver / Yard Operative to support daily operations across London and the South East. This varied role combines driving duties with general yard responsibilities.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position suitable for someone who enjoys practical work and being part of a team. You will be delivering materials to job sites and helping to manage stock, cleanliness, and organisation in the yard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive a company van to deliver and collect materials from sites
  • Load and unload materials safely
  • Assist with general yard operations, including stock control
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and van
  • Perform routine vehicle checks and report issues
  • Operate a forklift (if licensed)
  • Liaise with office and site staff to coordinate deliveries

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (clean preferred)
  • Comfortable driving in and around London
  • Confident with manual handling tasks
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Team player with a can-do attitude
  • Experience in a similar environment preferred

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Forklift licence
  • Familiarity with FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme)
