Are you a detail-driven CAD professional with a background in construction or architectural design? Join a leading UK specialist subcontractor delivering high-performance building envelope solutions on flagship construction projects.
We’re looking for a CAD Technician to join our team in Newton Aycliffe, producing technical drawings and material schedules for complex roofing and cladding systems. This is a hands-on, design-focused role where you’ll contribute to the full project lifecycle—from concept through to installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 2D CAD drawings for façade, roofing, and cladding systems
- Interpret project specifications, estimates, and site data into accurate construction drawings
- Liaise with internal design teams, site managers, subcontractors, and engineers
- Support material take-offs, scheduling, and design coordination for elements such as mansafe systems, drainage, and louvres
- Attend project meetings and contribute to quality assurance and progress reporting
About You:
- Experience as a CAD Technician or Draughtsperson in the construction or architectural sectors
- Proficient in AutoCAD; 3D CAD experience desirable but not essential
- HNC (or equivalent) in a construction, design, or engineering-related discipline
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Knowledge of cladding, roofing, and façade systems is advantageous
