Overview

Since being founded in 2018, Copper has been building the standard for institutional digital asset infrastructure with a focus on custody, collateral management, and prime services. Copper provides a comprehensive suite of custody, trading and settlement solutions that reduce counterparty risk and bring greater capital and operational efficiency to digital asset markets. Copper’s Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology underpins a secure custody platform that can connect to centralised exchanges, DeFi applications and staking pools without assets leaving custody. ClearLoop is Copper’s first solution to address counterparty risk with exchanges, enabling trading and settlement directly from MPC-secured wallets with settlement times shortened to a few milliseconds and without blockchain network dependency. The Client Onboarding team sits within the Operations department and is dedicated to delivering a seamless onboarding experience for clients, from initial engagement through to go-live. The team coordinates all aspects of the onboarding journey with internal stakeholders, shaping a positive first impression and laying the foundation for long-term client success.

Role Purpose

As a senior Client Onboarding Specialist, you will lead the delivery of a best-in-class onboarding experience for clients, ensuring a smooth transition from initial engagement through to platform activation. You will own complex onboarding projects, strategic initiatives, and drive continuous improvement across onboarding processes and client touchpoints. This role requires a strong mix of operational expertise, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking, collaborating with Sales, Relationship Management, Legal, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure onboarding is efficient, secure, and aligned with Copper’s standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Client Onboarding Ownership — act as the primary point of contact throughout the onboarding lifecycle, ensuring a consistent best-in-class client experience.
  • Pipeline Monetisation & Sales Alignment — collaborate with the Sales team to monetise the client pipeline and support revenue targets.
  • Meeting Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement — schedule and lead client meetings, ensuring alignment and timely delivery of onboarding dependencies.
  • Regulatory and Legal Coordination — partner with KYC Operations and Compliance to support AML/KYC checks and onboard in line with regulatory standards; coordinate with legal on client negotiations.
  • Pipeline Communication & Prioritisation — lead weekly stakeholder updates, prioritise key accounts, and ensure resources support go-live deadlines.
  • CRM Management & Reporting — maintain client records in Salesforce and support onboarding performance dashboards.
  • Platform Configuration & Account Setup — complete client account setup on the Copper platform.
  • Process Optimisation & Strategic Input — identify delays and inefficiencies and contribute to evolving Copper’s onboarding framework.
  • Product & Integration Enablement — support onboarding processes for new products and system integrations, ensuring readiness and scalability.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in client-facing onboarding within financial services or fintech, across the full onboarding lifecycle.
  • Experience working with Sales, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Technology to streamline onboarding.
  • Track record of reducing onboarding time, improving data accuracy, and enhancing client satisfaction.
  • Ability to identify onboarding risks and escalate issues to mitigate regulatory or reputational exposure.
  • Strong understanding of AML/KYC regulations and financial compliance frameworks.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills with a focus on superior service.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (preferably Salesforce) and onboarding platforms.
  • Interest in crypto, fintech, and broader financial services; proactive about industry trends.

Desirable

  • Professional experience in Crypto.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Understanding of UK, US, and Swiss AML and Financial Crime Regulation.
