Since being founded in 2018, Copper has been building the standard for institutional digital asset infrastructure with a focus on custody, collateral management, and prime services. Led by Amar Kuchinad, Copper's Global CEO, the firm provides a comprehensive suite of custody, trading and settlement solutions that reduce counterparty risk and bring greater capital and operational efficiency to digital asset markets.

At the heart of Copper's offering is Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology – the gold standard in secure custody. Copper’s multi-award winning custody system is unique in that it can be connected to centralised exchanges, DeFi applications and even staking pools without the assets leaving the custody. Built on top of this state-of-the-art custody, ClearLoop is the first solution in the market that overcomes a growing industry challenge; counterparty risk with exchanges. This solution underpins a full prime services offering, connecting global exchanges, and enabling customers to trade and settle directly from the safety of their MPC-secured wallets.

By reducing settlement time for transfers to a few milliseconds (without blockchain network dependency) and offering enhanced security measures, ClearLoop is rapidly reshaping the way asset managers trade and manage capital. In addition to industry-leading security certifications, Copper has one of the strongest insurance coverages in the industry from an A+ rated insurer, positioning the firm as the partner of choice for institutions seeking to safeguard their assets.

Department/Team Purpose: Copper's Finance team provides critical information to the company's leadership to facilitate effective management, strategic decision-making and insights into the key data and metrics driving our business growth. Our team spans several disciplines, Finance Operations, Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax and Procurement. Together we support the wider business through day-to-day operations (commercial deal support, invoice processing, cash collection), regular reporting (budget vs actuals, forecasting, cash and liquidity management), performance management (KPIs, sales metrics and financials) and specialised activities (tax compliance, vendor selection). Our goal is to be a best-in-class support function for the global Copper business and to ensure every department performs against its objectives as we scale.

Role Purpose: The Treasury Operations Associate will sit within the Finance Operations function and play a central role in managing Copper's cash and transaction control infrastructure. Operating at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets, you will take ownership of liquidity management, FX and investment activities across fiat and digital asset portfolios, supporting the accurate processing of client and internal transactions, and developing the controls framework that underpins Copper's treasury operations. You will be actively involved in project management initiatives geared toward automation and process efficiency. This is a high-impact role for someone who combines a strong operational mindset with a genuine interest in the evolving digital asset landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cash Management & Funding: Manage daily cash positions across fiat and digital asset accounts, ensuring internal records reconcile to external bank and custodian statements. Own and manage liquidity across fiat and digital asset accounts, proactively identifying and resolving funding shortfalls or surpluses to ensure optimal cash deployment at all times. Process and authorise deposits, withdrawals and fund transfers across office and client accounts in line with internal controls and approval frameworks.
  • Transaction Management & Control: Oversee end-to-end transaction processing across Copper client and proprietary portfolios, covering both fiat and digital asset flows. Perform regular reconciliations and investigate and resolve breaks in a timely manner, escalating material discrepancies appropriately. Support fiat trade settlements, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions across the trade lifecycle.
  • FX & Investment Management: Manage FX transactions and monitor currency exposures across fiat portfolios, ensuring effective execution and hedging in line with internal treasury guidelines. Support the management of Copper's investment activities, including monitoring investment positions and ensuring compliance with accepted risk parameters.
  • Month-end Close & Reporting: Support month-end close activities, ensuring all treasury-related entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time. Produce and distribute various treasury and management reports, providing clear and timely data on cash positions, transaction activity and other key treasury metrics.
  • Controls Infrastructure & Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and documentation of Copper's end-to-end cash and transaction control framework across all portfolios. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and control through process redesign, automation or tooling. Support the Product team with automation initiatives and participate in various projects aimed at process efficiencies. Support audit and regulatory requests relating to treasury operations as required.

Skills and Experience:

Essential: 1–2 years' experience in a cash or transaction operations role, ideally within financial services, fintech or digital assets. Strong control and process mindset with practical experience applying this within a Finance or Operations environment. Confident communicator, able to engage clearly and professionally with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Educated to degree level or equivalent. Studying towards or qualified in a relevant accounting or finance qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data modelling. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with a methodical approach to managing complex or high-volume transactions.

Desirable: Familiarity with digital assets, cryptocurrency markets or blockchain-based settlement infrastructure. Understanding of and genuine interest in trade lifecycle management — from execution through to settlement. Experience with treasury management systems (TMS) or financial ERP platforms (e.g. NetSuite, SAP, Oracle). Understanding of FX markets and multi-currency cash management. Experience working in a high-growth or scaling fintech or digital asset environment. Exposure to API-driven or automated reconciliation tooling.
