About the Role
Copius Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of a major data centre project in Iceland. This is a key technical role supporting the design coordination, installation, and delivery of complex electrical systems within a large-scale, mission-critical environment. The role will be remote initially, moving to onsite / rotational work in Iceland as the project progresses.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and commercial staff to deliver high performance data centre infrastructure for a leading global technology client.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design coordination and delivery of electrical systems on a major data centre project
- Review electrical designs, drawings, technical submittals, and specifications
- Assist in managing key electrical packages including LV/MV distribution, UPS systems, generators, containment, and lighting systems
- Work closely with contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with technical and project requirements
- Support installation, commissioning, and testing activities
- Monitor site progress and support quality and safety standards
- Collaborate with project and commercial teams to maintain programme and budget alignment
Key Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience on data centre, mission critical, or large-scale MEP projects
- Strong understanding of LV/MV systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, and distribution networks
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications
- Experience working with main contractors or specialist MEP contractors preferred
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Comfortable working remotely initially, then onsite in Iceland on a rotational basis
Desirable
- Experience on hyperscale data centre projects
- Experience with commissioning and testing processes
- Familiarity with BIM / digital engineering tools
- Previous international project experience
