Copius Group is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to support the delivery of a major data centre project in Iceland. This is a key commercial role on a large-scale, mission critical programme where you will take ownership of cost management, procurement strategy, and commercial performance across complex MEP packages. You will be joining a growing and highly capable delivery team working on advanced data centre infrastructure for leading global technology clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial management of large-scale data centre construction projects
- Manage full cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting across all project phases
- Lead procurement strategies and subcontractor engagement across major MEP packages
- Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, valuations, and CVRs
- Administer contracts (NEC, JCT, FIDIC or similar), managing change, variations, and claims
- Produce commercial reports, cashflow forecasts, and financial analysis
- Lead value engineering, risk management, and cost optimisation initiatives
- Provide commercial leadership to delivery teams and stakeholders
Key Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline
- Proven experience delivering data centre or mission-critical projects (essential)
- Strong background working with main contractors or specialist MEP contractors
- Experience with MEP packages on large, complex infrastructure projects
- Strong working knowledge of NEC / FIDIC / JCT contract forms
- Excellent commercial acumen, analytical and negotiation skills
- Experience leading subcontractor procurement and commercial governance
- Desirable MRICS or similar professional accreditation
- Experience delivering hyperscale or Tier rated data centres
- Experience working internationally or in remote rotation environments
- Familiarity with digital construction tools / BIM
