Test Engineer – Rochester β Full time on site Copello are working with a dynamic business who are dedicated to delivering a range of sophisticated metering and data acquisition solutions to the power industry. Their comprehensive portfolio includes both hardware and software products, developed in-house or sourced from trusted third-party suppliers. They specialise in solving complex network solutions, Dynamic System Monitoring, Power Quality, and Generator performance monitoring. As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for mechanical and electrical testing of completed projects. Duties * Full ownership of mechanical and electrical testing of electrical panels (metering solutions), including insulation resistance, secondary injections, configuration of various devices etc. * Full ownership of test area; Providing input to test schedule, * Testing documentation and protocols, * Coordination of all testing phases; Performing witness acceptance tests, * Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure testing objectives are met to budget and on time, * Identify and lead testing risk and put control in place to mitigate, * Run EHS (Environment, health and safety) in connection with testing of projects * Support and assist the management team to supervise the progress of works and ensure that the testing targets are met and effect remedial action where required, * Make sure technical standards are maintained in all aspects of testing work in order that safe and successful project implementation * Occasional support with commissioning works at customers premises Skills and Experience * Electrical engineering or systems engineering technical background required * Experience working in similar role/environment advantageous * Relevant testing qualification advantageous * Excellent problem-solving ability and an engineering curiosity attitude * Excellent time/task management; Resilient to setbacks and committed to achieving goals * Knowledge of power industry, high voltage transmission and distribution networks * Knowledge of precision high accuracy metering advantageous (CoP1, CoP2) * Ability to interpret and use project documentation including electrical schematics * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Experience in SCADA, control systems and communication protocols advantageous * Experience in programming of switches & routers, integration and interface with other communications systems advantageous What is on offer? * Performance-Based Bonus: Enjoy an annual bonus linked to the company\’s performance * Flexible Working Hours: Achieve a healthy work-life balance with our flexible working arrangements * Pension Plan: Secure your future with our generous pension scheme, with employer contributions up to 10%. * Time Off: Recharge and rejuvenate with 26 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays), and the option to buy or sell an additional 5 days!
