Copello have partnered with an established defence engineering business based in Hampshire in the recruitment of an experienced Deal Architect. This person will be responsible for leading the design and structuring of complex, high-value opportunities within the defence and government sector. This role combines technical, commercial, and strategic expertise to create winning solutions for major programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning and shaping major pursuits from qualification to contract award
  • Designing integrated technical and commercial solutions
  • Developing pricing, cost models, and negotiation strategies
  • Leading bid governance, risk assessment, and approvals
  • Managing cross-functional teams across engineering, finance, legal, and delivery
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement, security, and regulatory standards

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience in solution architecture, bid leadership, or commercial strategy
  • Proven success leading complex deals
  • Background in defence, aerospace, or public sector contracting
  • Strong commercial, financial modelling, and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with UK government/MoD procurement processes
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capability
