Key Responsibilities
- Support Product Safety activities across multiple systems, ensuring safety considerations are integrated throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Contribute to Hazard Identification and Analysis activities, supporting risk assessment, mitigation, and ongoing hazard management.
- Produce and maintain safety documentation, ensuring outputs are clear, structured, and aligned with project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with project Safety Management Systems, supporting governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to embed safety into system design and development.
- Apply knowledge of engineering lifecycle processes to ensure safety is considered from concept through to delivery.
- Adapt to changing project priorities, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
Experience
- Experience in Product Safety, Safety Engineering, or Systems Engineering within a complex engineering environment.
- Understanding of hazard identification, risk management, and safety case development.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
- Experience within the maritime or defence sector is desirable, though other safety-critical industries will be considered.
