I am currently looking for a Software Specialist for a contract role in Reading. Contract: 3 mths Rate: £70 per hour Inside Location: Reading (5 days onsite) Clearance: Suitable candidates must already have current/transferable DV Clearance. (Please note: we can only consider candidates with active clearance for this role) We are seeking an experienced Teamcenter PLM Technical Consultant for the design, development, customisation and support of Siemens Teamcenter solutions within complex engineering and manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, IT and business stakeholders to deliver robust Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) capabilities that support critical business processes. The role requires a combination of Teamcenter technical expertise, enterprise application development experience and strong stakeholder engagement skills. This position is ideal for an experienced software engineer or solution architect who enjoys solving complex integration challenges, modernising engineering systems and delivering high-quality enterprise software solutions. Key Responsibilities Teamcenter Configuration & Customisation Design and implement Teamcenter customisations using Teamcenter ITK. Develop and maintain: Custom handlers User exits Workflow extensions Custom business rules Batch processes Extend standard Teamcenter functionality to meet evolving business requirements. Support Teamcenter upgrades and migration activities. Integration Development Design and implement integrations between Teamcenter and enterprise systems including: ERP platforms Manufacturing systems Engineering applications Data warehouses Microsoft technology stacks Develop APIs and middleware solutions to facilitate data exchange. Ensure secure and reliable integration of engineering data across platforms. Software Engineering Develop and maintain software components using: C# .NET C++ SQL Server Apply modern software engineering practices including: Code reviews Unit testing Automated build pipelines Source control management Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps. Solution Design Analyse business and engineering processes. Translate requirements into scalable PLM solutions. Produce technical designs and implementation documentation. Identify opportunities for process automation and system optimisation. Support & Continuous Improvement Investigate and resolve complex production issues. Provide third-line support for Teamcenter applications. Perform root cause analysis and recommend long-term solutions. Mentor junior developers and support knowledge sharing across teams. Essential Skills & Experience: Teamcenter Commercial experience with Siemens Teamcenter. Development experience using Teamcenter ITK. Experience creating: Custom handlers User exits Workflow customisations Server-side extensions Strong understanding of Product Lifecycle Management principles. Software Development Strong C# and .NET development experience. Commercial C++ development experience. Experience developing enterprise applications. Knowledge of object-oriented design principles and design patterns. Data & Integration: Experience with SQL Server, Oracle or other relational databases. Data migration and transformation experience. Experience integrating business-critical systems. Delivery: Agile development experience. Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, Bitbucket or similar tooling. Experience working in regulated or high-assurance environments. Personal Attributes: We are looking for someone who: Enjoys complex technical problem solving.
