About the Role:
On behalf of a defence client, we are seeking a Nuclear Technical Specialist in Systems Training to support the design, delivery and governance of nuclear training within a highly regulated environment. This position is integral to maintaining nuclear safety standards by ensuring training content, methods and assurance processes are aligned with operational, regulatory and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deliver and continuously improve nuclear training solutions that support strategic objectives and uphold nuclear safety principles.
- Provide specialist input into the development and enhancement of training materials within your technical discipline.
- Support the review and improvement of training content beyond your own specialism where it contributes to nuclear safety outcomes.
- Work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to strengthen specialist nuclear capability across the organisation.
- Ensure training activities are correctly governed, documented and assured in line with established nuclear policies and procedures.
- Maintain and enhance personal nuclear shipbuilding competence through involvement in build, test, commissioning, regulatory or assurance activities.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong understanding of nuclear systems and nuclear safety requirements, particularly within a nuclear submarine construction environment.
- Relevant qualifications and proven experience delivering technical or safety-critical training to varied audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt training approaches to suit different learner needs.
- Highly organised with the flexibility to respond to changing customer and programme demands.
- Sound judgement in risk and issue management, supported by analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
Desirable Experience:
- Previous submarine service with experience of submarine operations, including reactor and reactor support systems.
