Copello have partnered with an established Defence Engineering business in the recruitment of a Systems Engineer. This role focuses on supporting the design and delivery of advanced systems in areas such as resilient navigation, RF communications and sensor-based technologies used in challenging operational environments.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting system design across the full lifecycle, from early R&D through to deployment and support
- Contributing to system architecture, trade-off studies and technical decision-making
- Working with end users and stakeholders to help shape and deliver effective solutions
- Supporting technical assurance activities, risk management and ensuring delivery to quality, cost and schedule
- Assisting with integration, test, trials and system validation activities
What we’re looking for:
- A degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline
- A foundation in systems engineering with experience working on technically complex projects
- Knowledge of sensor and/or communication systems
- Ability to operate effectively in technically demanding and collaborative environments
Nice to have:
- Experience with navigation, positioning or timing systems (including resilient or alternative approaches)
- Exposure to RF, EW, DSP, FPGA, SDR or antenna-based systems
- Familiarity with structured development processes (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, Spiral)
- Experience supporting risk, issue and configuration management
