Copello are working with a leading Defence organisation in Kent to recruit a Principal Mechanical Engineer. This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team supporting the design, development and ongoing support of complex, safety-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of innovative mechanical design solutions to meet customer and programme requirements
- Produce and review technical documentation, design data packs, calculations and engineering reports
- Act as a Design Authority, reviewing and approving engineering designs and technical datasets
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Support design reviews, qualification activities and risk reduction programmes
- Work closely with project teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions on time and within budget
Experience Required
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to manufacture and support
- Experience producing and reviewing engineering drawings, models and technical documentation
