Copello are working with a defence client who are looking for an International Trade Compliance Manager to support the company’s compliance with international trade compliance laws and regulations, including UK, EU and US (EAR/ITAR). The ITC Manager will be responsible for ensuring the company maintains a compliant and effective International Trade Compliance (ITC) function. Acting as the organisation’s ITC expert, you will provide guidance on all aspects of trade control compliance, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to address issues and queries. The role includes representing the company to government agencies during compliance audits in partnership with ITC Officers, as well as developing and maintaining a comprehensive training plan to support the identification, delivery, and evaluation of international trade activities across the business. Key Responsibilities * Management and development of ITC team * Prepare and communicate monthly export forecast * Review and provide external classifications for products and services and maintained within ERP system. * Screening Suppliers and Customers * Understand and ensure compliance with UK and US Export Legislation. * Maintain suitable procedures and records to demonstrate control of exports to meet HMRC and/or Corporate audits and company policies * Support HMRC/MoD audits and compliance visits * Ensuring adequate preparation, training and communication within the company * Be the expert guiding purchasing, engineering, projects, commercial and other functions to ensure compliance * Development and continuous improvement of processes and controls to ensure compliance is maintained throughout the business * Deliver training, guidance and expertise the business * Advise on export issues in gate reviews through project lifecycles.
