About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Installation Technician to support the deployment of UHF/VHF Two-way Radio systems in environmentssuch as commercial & residential developments, data centres, warehouses, and large-scale infrastructure.
This role is ideal forsomeone with strong practical skills in cable installation, looking to gain further experience in radio communication systems.
Youll work as part of a technical team to install and commission systems based on a design provided by qualified engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Install radiating and feeder coaxial cable, to layout drawings and site plans
Mount and secure passive components (splitters, couplers, terminations, etc.)
Perform cable terminations, VSWR tests, and continuity checks using RF test equipment under supervision
Assist with the installation of RF repeaters, amplifiers, and power supplies
Document installation progress with photos and site notes
Follow detailed method statements and risk assessments to maintain safety and quality
Liaise with site supervisors and engineers to ensure compliance with project specifications
Assist in troubleshooting faults during installation and testing
Maintain tools, equipment, and stock inventory for site tasks
Essential Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in structured cabling, or low-voltage system installation
Comfortable using hand tools, drills, cable cutters, coax strippers, and RF test equipment
Ability to read basic cable schematics, containment layouts, and block diagrams
Understanding of safe cable routing, containment systems, and labelling standards
Basic knowledge of RF principles (training can be provided)
Willingness to work in confined spaces or elevated areas, as required by the site
Valid CSCS/ECS or equivalent site access certification
