Copello is partnering with a highly respected engineering and technology organisation who are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to support major product development programmes within a complex, regulated manufacturing environment. This position will play a key role in driving quality excellence across the full product lifecycle, working closely with Engineering, Project Management, Customers and Suppliers to ensure products, processes and systems meet stringent customer and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will lead quality activities including design and gate reviews, audits, root cause investigations, continuous improvement initiatives and programme quality planning, while helping to foster a strong quality culture across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage project quality requirements across the full product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and business standards
- Support product development through Design Reviews, Quality Plans, audits, FAI activities and robust process controls
- Lead root cause investigations, NCR/CR/FRACAS activities and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement
- Partner with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues, manage risk and promote a strong quality culture
- Drive product and process quality improvements using data analysis, validation activities and tools such as FMEA
- Provide guidance on AS9100, AS9102, Part 21G and Part 145 requirements while ensuring Product Safety and FOD controls are maintained
- Ensure programme quality requirements are proactively achieved and fully aligned to contractual and regulatory standards
- Drive compliance with company procedures, processes and policies across all project activities
- Manage non-conformities, customer complaints and root cause investigations using FRACAS and 8D methodologies
- Support and influence project teams to ensure quality requirements are understood, implemented and maintained
- Promote strong quality behaviours through training, guidance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct internal audits, support external audits and ensure Purchase Order quality requirements are met
Qualifications and experience
- Experience in implementing quality improvement
- Understanding of Aerospace, Quality System and Regulatory Standards
- Conversant with application of RCCA techniques
- Mechanical and electrical inspection experience
- Auditor trained and qualified
- EASA Part 21G, Part 21J and Part 145 trained
- Experience reviewing and creating AS9102 standard FAIRs
- Technical knowledge and ability to interpret Engineering Specifications
- Knowledge of MRP and IT software solutions
- Experience of training in use of quality tools/techniques
- Ability to train, mentor and coach individuals on Quality improvement objectives
