Copello is recruiting for an experienced SAP Finance Specialist to join a leading organisation operating within a highly regulated engineering and manufacturing environment. This is a key position within the ERP and Digital Technology team, supporting Finance, Manufacturing and Supply Chain functions through the effective management and optimisation of SAP systems. You'll act as the technical and functional expert across SAP Finance processes, ensuring business-critical systems remain operational while supporting ongoing transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Role
As the SAP Finance Specialist, you'll provide expert support across SAP Finance and Manufacturing processes, resolving complex issues, improving business processes and working closely with stakeholders to deliver system enhancements. Acting as the bridge between IT and the business, you'll play a vital role in maintaining operational integrity, supporting project delivery and ensuring SAP solutions continue to meet evolving business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for SAP Finance and Manufacturing functions, ensuring business-critical processes operate effectively.
- Investigate and resolve SAP transaction issues, including distribution, purchase order and pegging errors.
- Manage financial calendars and processing schedules within SAP.
- Analyse SAP transaction data and recommend corrective actions to resolve processing issues.
- Deliver user training and guidance on SAP business processes and best practice.
- Work with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for SAP and SAP BW across Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Commercial and Quality functions.
- Support business users by providing first-line functional expertise and troubleshooting complex SAP issues.
- Define and maintain business processes, procedures and system documentation.
- Collaborate with technical teams to prioritise defects, define business requirements and support the delivery of system improvements.
- Lead business-focused troubleshooting activities and support the resolution of complex service issues.
- Ensure compliance with information security, change management, governance and software licensing requirements.
- Support service management activities, including incident, problem and change management.
- Maintain service documentation, support procedures and operational support arrangements.
- Contribute to ongoing ERP projects, ensuring successful implementation and long-term support.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for an experienced SAP professional with a strong background supporting Finance and Manufacturing environments. You should have:
- Proven experience implementing and supporting SAP R/3 ERP solutions.
- Strong SAP Finance knowledge, including FI/CO and Project Systems (PS).
- Experience integrating SAP Finance with PP, MM and SD modules.
- Strong understanding of SAP ERP and MRP within manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting Product Cost Management and financial processes.
- Proven experience analysing and resolving Grouping, Pegging and Distribution (GPD) issues.
- Experience working within manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Strong understanding of business process analysis and continuous improvement.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
- Knowledge of IT disciplines including: Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Change Control, Quality Management, Reliability Analysis.
- Experience supporting business-critical systems in high-availability environments.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Aerospace, Defence or other highly regulated industries.
- SAP Business Warehouse (BW).
- Data warehousing and reporting solutions.
- ITIL service management principles.
- Manufacturing and Supply Chain business processes.
- Business analysis and project delivery.
- User training and stakeholder engagement.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- Security Clearance (SC), or eligibility to obtain it.
- Degree qualified in an IT, Software Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
