Copello is recruiting for an experienced SAP BW Data Warehouse Analyst to join a leading organisation operating within a highly regulated engineering and manufacturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Digital Technology team responsible for delivering and supporting enterprise-wide ERP and Business Intelligence solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and developing SAP Business Warehouse (BW) reporting solutions, supporting business-critical applications and delivering data insights across multiple business functions.

The Role

As an SAP BW Data Warehouse Analyst, you'll be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of SAP BW applications, from business analysis and requirements gathering through to development, testing, implementation and ongoing support. Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and third-party suppliers, you'll develop and maintain SAP BW reporting solutions while ensuring systems remain secure, reliable and aligned with evolving business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and enhance SAP Business Warehouse (BW) reporting and data warehouse solutions.
  • Support the full application lifecycle, including business analysis, design, development, testing and implementation.
  • Work closely with business users to understand requirements and deliver effective reporting solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve application issues, service requests and data-related incidents.
  • Monitor system performance and implement preventative maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the integrity, security and availability of enterprise data and reporting solutions.
  • Design, develop and support BW reports, queries and data models.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation for applications, processes and system changes.
  • Support application integrations and data exchange between enterprise systems.
  • Monitor support queues and change management systems, ensuring requests are prioritised and progressed effectively.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal technical teams to resolve issues and deliver enhancements.
  • Maintain configuration management records and application documentation.
  • Provide user support, training and guidance where required.
  • Occasionally travel to other UK sites to support business and project activities.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone with strong SAP BW development experience within a complex enterprise environment. You should have:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience) in an IT-related discipline.
  • Strong SAP Business Warehouse (BW) experience.
  • ABAP programming knowledge.
  • Experience with SAP NetWeaver.
  • Knowledge of SAP BW Dataflows (3.x and 7.x).
  • Experience using the SAP Business Explorer (BEx) toolset, including: Query Designer, Analyzer, Web Analyzer.
  • Experience delivering and supporting business-critical enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and systems delivery processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Manufacturing or Defence environments.
  • SAP Business Process Automation by Redwood (CPS Job Scheduler).
  • SAP BW administration, including: InfoObjects, DataSources, DSOs, InfoCubes, MultiProviders, Administration and monitoring of BW Process Chains.
  • Resolving data loading and ETL issues.
  • Supporting ad hoc reporting requests and investigating data anomalies.
  • Performance monitoring and optimisation of SAP BW environments.
  • Data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.
  • Working with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reporting and analytics solutions.
