We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join a growing National Security team delivering mission-critical solutions that help keep the nation safe, secure, and prosperous. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud, DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering, supporting complex and high-impact programmes. As a technically focused Business Analyst or business-focused Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in bridging business requirements and technical solutions. You will work closely with customers, stakeholders, and engineering teams to gather requirements, analyse processes, define system options, and support the successful delivery of innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Conduct process mapping, data analysis, and requirements management activities.
  • Define and evaluate system options to support engineering and delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Produce clear and concise documentation, including user requirements and process models.
  • Assess opportunities to leverage AI and automation where appropriate within highly regulated environments.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and articulate business needs to engineering teams.
  • Support the delivery of solutions across the full project lifecycle.

About You

  • Experience in Business Analysis, Systems Engineering, or a similar technical role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An understanding of software development lifecycles and modern delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, and data modelling.
  • An appreciation of AI and GenAI technologies and their application within secure or regulated environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within National Security, Defence, Government, or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, cyber security, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering concepts.
  • Experience supporting complex technical transformation programmes.

Gloucester, with hybrid working available depending on project requirements.

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of this role, candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, the highest level of UK Government security clearance.
