Aviation Quality Engineer role based in Southend with a salary of £41,500. The client is a leading provider of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of aircraft components and parts, covering 24 different types of aircraft.

Role Overview: Reporting to the Quality and SMS Manager (Airworthiness), the Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System within a component maintenance environment. This role ensures compliance with the requirements of regulatory authorities, including EASA Part 145 and the CAA, in relation to the company’s approved maintenance activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal/external scheduled audits and inspections.
  • Maintain the independence of the Quality Departments to ensure compliance with Part 145.A.65(c).
  • Manage the company MOR, IOR reporting schemes as required by Part 145.A.60.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of EASA Part 145 and SMS Risk based management.
  • Oversee day to day administration and control of the quality department and audit programme.
  • Administer Company Manuals.
  • Administer the Company Authorisation system to comply with current legislation ensuring staff meet the requirements of Part 145.A.35 as appropriate.
  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports on quality, technical and maintenance issues using MEDA for the Authorities, Quality Manager Airworthiness and the Accountable Manager as appropriate.
  • Manage and administer Non-Conformances.
  • Negotiate with Manufacturers/Vendors on Quality matters relating to Maintenance of customer aircraft.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in an airline, maintenance, quality safety environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to conduct audits.
  • Understanding of EASA Part 145.
  • Understanding of Q0Pulse Quality management Software.
