Copello are partnered with a leading organisation within the defence industry to recruit a Product Safety Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the safety, assurance and compliance of complex, high-integrity defence products — supporting national capability while developing your career within a specialist engineering environment.
The Role
As a Product Safety Engineer, you’ll play a key part in supporting the development and assurance of the Product Safety Case. Working closely with engineering and project delivery teams, you will ensure safety activities are robust, traceable and aligned to defence-sector standards. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting peer reviews, verification tasks and safety assurance activities
- Assisting with the creation and management of Project Safety Management Plans
- Developing a solid understanding of the Safety Case structure, as well as Quality and HS&E systems
- Supporting hazard identification and risk assessment workshops
- Contributing to the derivation and management of product safety requirements
- Assisting in the development of training materials related to safety processes
About You
Essential:
- A STEM degree (or equivalent experience)
- Awareness of the operational and environmental challenges faced by defence products
Desirable:
- Understanding of product lifecycles within complex engineering environments (design, manufacturing, assembly, commissioning, testing)
- Ability to interpret detailed technical and engineering data
