About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior CAD Designer to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness. This role is key to the development of complex electrical systems across our cutting-edge platforms. You’ll be producing 3D models and detailed 2D schematics that help bring our products to life—from concept through to manufacturing and testing.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Creating detailed 3D CAD models for electrical systems and equipment integration
- Designing routed electrical systems, including components such as switchboards, power units, and other critical subsystems
- Developing and maturing 2D electrical schematics and system diagrams
- Producing high-quality outputs (2D drawings and digital data) to support manufacturing, installation, and testing
What We’re Looking For
- A relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, ONC, degree in a STEM subject), a completed apprenticeship, or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience as an Electrical Designer or Draughtsperson, ideally in a complex engineering or defence environment
- Strong understanding of electrical compartment integration and relevant engineering standards
- Knowledge of electrical routed systems in both 2D and 3D
- Proficiency with CAD toolsets and modelling techniques
