This role is NOT health and safety of humans.

Experience:

  • Experience as an ISO9001 auditor in a workshop environment.
  • P145 workshop or Part 21G Manufacture experience.
  • 2-years working in an aircraft maintenance or airline environment; or 2-years working in a compliance or safety environment.
  • Knowledge of Aviation standards in an airline maintenance environment (EASA).
  • Knowledge of the application of Safety Management Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the activities of the organisation are monitored for compliance with the applicable requirements and any additional requirements as established by the organisation, and that these activities are carried out properly under the supervision of the nominated persons.
  • Ensuring that any maintenance contracted to another maintenance organisation is monitored for compliance with the contract or work order.
  • Implementing a quality audit programme in which compliance with all maintenance procedures is reviewed at regular intervals in relation to each type of aircraft (or component) maintained.
  • Monitoring and coordinate the response to compliance findings such that they are closed within the agreed timescales.
  • Monitoring the amendment of the organisation’s procedures and standard practices (MOE, including the associated procedure(s)) and their compliance with the current revision of Part-145 plus any other applicable regulatory requirement and guidance material issued by EASA/CAA.
  • Assessing suppliers of new and used components and materials for satisfactory product quality in relation to the needs of the organisation.
  • Assessing subcontractors working under the Compliance Monitoring and maintaining the expertise necessary to be able to do so, to the satisfaction of EASA.
  • Establishing feedback from audit findings into the recurrent training programme.
  • Processing the initial application, renewal or change to personnel certification authorisations on behalf of the Director of Compliance and Safety.
  • Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment and management.
  • Performing safety investigations in accordance with defined protocols to identify effective interventions.
  • Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks, as listed in the safety action plan, unless action follow-up is addressed by the compliance monitoring function.
  • Monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of control measures following safety events.
  • Ensure that there is safety training available, and that it meets acceptable standards.
  • Ensuring safety management training is available and that it meets acceptable standards.
  • Provide advice on safety matters.
  • Establishing feedback from maintenance incidents/issues and feeding these back into the recurrent training programme.
  • Ensuring that the safety investigation process is consistent in upholding a Just Culture.
  • Ensuring that actions taken to mitigate risks are monitored for implementation and effectiveness.
  • Assisting the Director of Compliance and Safety with the development and management of Compliance and Safety documentation.
  • Assisting with the promotion of compliance and safety issues within the company and to customers, through the promulgation of appropriate media.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, customer airlines and sub-contracted organisations concerning all regulatory approval, personnel authorisation, compliance finding or safety issues.
