Copello are working with a leading defence and engineering organisation to recruit a Nuclear Safety Case Engineer to join a long-term programme at the forefront of the UK’s nuclear sector.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in high-integrity, regulated environments and wants to take real ownership of key safety deliverables. You’ll be part of a team that directly supports the development and ongoing assurance of nuclear safety cases — working closely with Engineering, Human Factors and Site Safety teams to keep standards high and the plant safe.
What you’ll be doing:
- Writing and reviewing nuclear substantiation and safety case documentation
- Supporting periodic reviews and safety case implementation
- Leading on your own deliverables and contributing to the wider team’s development
- Engaging with stakeholders across technical and operational functions
- Reviewing analysis, calculations and other supporting evidence for safety justifications
What we’re looking for:
- Background in nuclear safety, safety case development, or substantiation work
- Experience in a regulated or high-hazard industry (nuclear, defence, etc.)
- Confident producing well-structured technical reports
- Comfortable collaborating with engineering and assurance teams
- Degree-qualified in a STEM subject
