Copello are working with a defence client who are looking for a Quality Technician to join the team. In this role you would be responsible for ensuring product conformity against approved design documentation, conducting Goods-In, WIP, and Final Inspections, and accurately reporting any deviations. The position provides quality support across Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing, conducts audits and training, and represents the Quality function internally and externally. The role operates within ISO9001 quality systems while supporting continuous business improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Interpret current approved design data and engineering drawings
- Devise methods for CAPA implementation
- Measure key quality characteristics of Products or Processes
- Perform First Article Inspection in accordance with contractual requirements
- Surveillance of QMS compliance via Internal Auditing and Reporting
- Identify non-conformance with immediate, concise and objective reporting
- Raise Supplier Corrective Action Requests (RTV and RNM)
- Report Business Improvement project progress at review meetings
- Perform First Off Inspection in accordance with company procedures
- Verify product compliance against IPC-610 and CEL/QAM/9 workmanship standards
- Promote CI to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of Quality systems
- Implement Lean Methodology to introduce and sustain continuous improvement
Qualifications and experience:
- Electronics background
- Workmanship standards knowledge
- Mechanical and electrical inspection experience
- Auditor trained and qualified
- Release signatory experience and education
- AS9102 awareness and experience
