Electrical CAD Designer – Copello are working with a defence technology specialist on the recruitment of a highly experienced Electrical CAD Designer to work as a member of the Hardware Engineering team, to create and review electrical designs and drawings to deliver on a Defence maritime platform management project in Surrey.
Please note SC Clearance must be obtainable for this role and candidates must hold a British Passport.
This is a hybrid role, with a very flexible working pattern of only 1 day a month in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOM) for projects.
- Provide technical support to the Electrical Design Engineering team.
- Build and maintain component libraries to streamline schematic creation.
- Conduct reviews of electrical schematics to ensure compliance with applicable standards and internal CAD protocols.
- Update and manage documentation and drawings to reflect changes throughout development and production stages.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to provide support for mechanical drawings and related tasks.
- Create, manage, and implement Change Notes (CN) to capture design modifications.
- Ensure strict adherence to configuration management processes for maintaining baseline control across all phases of the project lifecycle.
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive experience in a role focused on Electrical CAD design.
- Solid knowledge and practical understanding of electrical Defence Standards, including Lloyd\’s Register and Military Standards (e.g., Def Stan 59-411).
- Expertise in using AutoCAD Electrical or comparable design software.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative, as well as effectively contributing within a collaborative team setting.
- Capability to perform under pressure while managing tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
