About the Role
Copello are seeking an experienced Nuclear Engineer to join a growing team delivering cutting-edge projects within the UK Defence sector.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Reviewing design documentation and assessing plant design changes
- Assessing plant build maturity for transition between build phases
- Ensuring maintenance of reactor plant design intent throughout build and commissioning
- Supporting the writing and presentation of technical reports to aid problem resolution
- Contributing to programme delivery through innovative engineering solutions
- Supporting the Intelligent Customer function for reactor plant documentation and safety cases
- Gaining experience by learning from senior engineers and developing towards future opportunities
Your Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Degree-qualified in Engineering or Physical Sciences (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry, Physics) or equivalent experience
- Understanding of the engineering lifecycle
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability in work delivery
- Ability to produce clear, structured technical reports
Desirable:
- Experience justifying design change, ideally within a nuclear environment
- Understanding of nuclear regulations and industry standards
- Experience within civil nuclear or defence/naval engineering
- Completion of a graduate scheme or prior relevant industry experience
- Strong presentation and communication skills
