The Emerson Wide Area Network (WAN) network comprises around sites and circuits which must be sized to deliver a quality user experience at an appropriate cost. The primary role of the Capacity Planning Analyst is to analyze network circuit utilization and provide actionable analysis to management to facilitate the Emerson network to operate at “best-in-class” levels of performance and cost.
In this role, your main responsibilities will be:
- Work closely with Senior Manager, WAN & Telephony Services, Network Logistics and other stakeholders to understand the drivers of network circuit costs.
- Work closely with the Network Tools team on the development of capacity planning reports and dashboards.
- Engage vendor sales and technical contacts as required.
- Review circuit performance data and dashboards to determine the level of utilization of circuits over time and ascertain future bandwidth requirements.
- Summarize complex data sets and provide reports and recommendations for any optimization opportunities to leadership.
- Ensure network circuits delivered to a site are consistent with the location business criticality and are cost and performance optimized.
- Develop, and automate as appropriate, monitoring processes which identify sustained incongruities in circuit capacity and utilization, and propose remediation plans to WAN service management.
- Monitor, track and report on network circuit performance and cost data including but not limited to cost and bandwidth over time, cost per Mbps by region, circuit type, vendor and total spend on WAN circuits.
- Conduct appropriate due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures to drive rapid conversion of acquired businesses to Emerson service provider rates optimizing and tracking of circuit cost and capacity.

For this role you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree alternatively, commensurate work experience in lieu of degree.
- Fluent English.
- Previous experience with data analysis tools and data visualization concepts (experience analyzing data sets in Microsoft Excel in particular).
- Experience in a position working with business personnel to identify business challenges and providing solutions to those challenges.
- Keen ability to follow process or improve or create new process where it does not exist or may be beneficial.
Preferred qualifications to set you apart:
- Experience in telecom carrier voice and data circuit technologies, as well as ordering and provisioning processes.
- Knowledge of network performance monitoring tools.
